The Caribbean’s favorite cocktail, The Pain Killer
It is hard to be a fan of tropical drinks and not love The Pain Killer. A refreshing blend of fruit juices and rum it has been a staple of summer fun for many a year. As with most Tiki style cocktails, Rum is the star performer. This drink, much like the Dark and Stormy has a preferred if maybe not legally binding preference of Rum. It seems that the Pusser’s rum company has a trade make on the name Pain Killer as they consider it their signature cocktail, just a tidbit of trivia. If you want to be a purest, please use Pusser’s rum as it is a very good traditional wood pot still rum. If you don;t have Pusser’s rum at hand or you just don’t give a rats ass, either way The pain killer will always make any event even more fun.
The Pain Killer Recipe….
Ok, so as stated earlier, you can use any rum you want but we at this publication strive to maintain a degree of traditionalism so we will specify Pusser’s rum…… 2 oz. of it 4 oz. pineapple juice 1 oz. orange juice 1 oz. cream of coconut add ingredients in shaker, shake well and pour over ice. the key ingredient to this drink that is a must is that a healthy shake of ground nutmeg goes on top…. garnish with fruit and bang…. a Pain Killer
